WASTE WOOD FACILITIES

P&I’s wood-fired power plants combust waste wood from surrounding areas to produce renewable power for sale to utilities under long-term purchase power agreements. The waste wood fuel is obtained from multiple sources depending on each facility’s geographic location. Sources include diverted material from landfills, agricultural waste, forest management waste and discarded railroad ties

LANDFILL GAS FACILITIES

P&I’s landfill gas group recovers methane gas from landfills and converts the gas to electricity for sale to local utilities or processes it for sale as a lower cost replacement of natural gas to industrial customers. The business is also a participant in the emerging “renewable natural gas” market
